Awana

What is AWANA?

awana kid

Awana is one of the fastest growing children-youth organizations in the world. Awana clubs International sponsors clubs in over 15,600 Churches in 110 countries and 30 languages.

AWANA is Fun With a Purpose

To reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. It is centered on a weekly club night, consisting of 3 main parts. Game Time is packed with exciting games played on the Awana circle. Handbook Time is a small group time lead by trained adults and is focused on learning and applying Gods word for daily living. Bible Group Time includes worship and a Bible lesson. We will also have an Awana Store where the children can use the Awana cash they have earned to buy things. Special activities include parties, event nights and mission nights.

A child becomes an official member of his or her club after they finish an entrance booklet. At that time they will
receive their first Awana handbook, vest (K – 2nd grade) shirt (3rd – 6th grade) and start earning additional
rewards.

The Sparks Club

Sparks is our Awana club for children in kindergarten through second grade. The aim of
this club is to take children a step deeper into God’s World While giving them many
opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. Sparks combines learning
with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for all kids. Each week the
children play age appropriate games on the Awana circle, hear a Bible message and work with their leaders in
their handbooks to memorize God’s word. The Sparks curriculum consists of three handbooks. Each one
communicates spiritual truths through memory verses, crafts, activities and review.

Truth & Training

The name Truth & Training (T&T) reflects the passion of Awana to teach third through
fifth grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in
their daily lives. The T&T is divided into two groups: The Ultimate Adventure for 3rd and 4th
graders and the Ultimate Challenge for 5th and 6th graders. T&T clubbers work through two
Bible-centered handbooks in each group which teach them life’s ultimate adventure is a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ultimately challenges them to reach out and serve others. Weekly
gatherings expose children to the Gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games
and tons of fun. Clubs also plan outings and events for fun and relationship building.
