12/11/20
In light of the new PA recommendations in mitigating the spread of coronavirus, we have decided to suspend Sunday School through January 4th. Our worship service will continue to meet on Sunday at 10:30 AM with the current guidelines in place.
7/1/20-
Nursery– We continue to offer nursery during our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30. After you sign in your little one, you will receive a pager, just in case. The nursery is located in the lower level, below the sanctuary.
Children’s church (toddler’s room)– This Sunday we will restart the toddler room. This is our preschool ministry for kids ages 3-5. You can drop off your little one in the fellowship hall before the start of the service. This will allow for more space with the kids and provide social distancing. Children will be returned to the front of the sanctuary after church where you can sign them out.
Junior Church– We will also be restarting junior church this week. Students ages 6-10 will begin the service in the church sanctuary. During the final hymn before the message (look for the special slide), students will be dismissed to meet in the front of the church before heading upstairs to the fellowship hall. Again, the extra space allows the students to have more room for social distancing. Once they arrive, they will be spaced out and will have a combined lesson and memory verse game with the toddler room children. Kids will be returned to the front of the sanctuary after church where you can sign them out.
Weekend Worship Service– Since we are back in the church sanctuary, we are no longer be pre-recording our weekend worship service. As a result, the weekend recording will be uploaded and available on Monday mornings. You can watch on our church website, Facebook or YouTube. Below is a link to all the previous services- https://www.hgcc.org/videos/v-sermons/
6/12/20- This Sunday, the morning worship service will return to the sanctuary. We ask that you please sit every other pew and at least 6 feet apart. Masks are optional, though if you chose to wear a mask or would like to further social distance, you can sit in the outer sections. Also, we will be gradually restarting Sunday children’s programs and Sunday School throughout the summer.
5/26/20- Tomorrow, we will be having our first in-person prayer meeting in over two months. We ask that you remember proper social distancing in taking your seat. Please leave at least six feet (or half a pew) of distance between you and the next person. Also, do not sit directly behind someone, but allow a buffer pew of space.
We will restart our verse by verse Bible study going through Genesis. We pick up with Genesis 38. This chapter departs from the story of Joseph to reconnect the read with the life of Judah. After a time of praises and requests, we will prayer as one body rather than breaking into smaller groups.
5/21/20- On Friday, May 22nd, York County is officially going from red to yellow in the reopening progression. As a result, we will be offering two weekend worship service options. We will be starting a new, live drive-in service, beginning this Sunday at 10:30 AM.
We will have ushers parking cars beginning at 10:05 AM. Please enter the parking lot using either the Harmony Grove Rd. or Skytop Rd. entrances. If you arrive late, only the Skytop Rd. entrance will be open and you will be asked to park in the upper lot.
Once you arrive, you will receive a bulletin; including a song sheet and order of service. Children’s sermon notes will also be available upon request. Upon entering you will be directed to park facing the front door of the sanctuary. This area will serve as our staging area. After parking, the service will be broadcast on 101.1 FM. This service will have announcements, a four song worship set and a sermon.
If you need to use the bathroom, they will be available using the side door of the sanctuary. We will encourage you to be respectful of others and use proper social distancing. Since this is an outdoor service, face masks will be encouraged, but are not mandatory.
If there is inclement weather, the drive-in service will be cancelled and you are welcome to watch the online broadcast. Also, for those who are continuing to self-isolate, the online broadcast will be available in the form of our pre-recorded service on our church website, Facebook and YouTube pages each Saturday afternoon.
If you have any questions, please contact either your shepherding elder or Pastor Jim Crosley
3/25/20- Due to the Corona virus we will continue to have online church the next two Sunday’s. Also, we have postponed both the Passion Plan and Easter Egg Hunt.
3/21/20- This week our message will be completely online. You will be able to see both the announcements as well as Pastor Jim’s message. Sadly, we had some complications with the worship part of the recording. You can watch on our website, our Facebook page, or by clicking the link below.
3/19/20- Due to the CDC recommendations concerning the Corona-virus we will not be meeting this Sunday for our regular church services. Rather, we will be recording our worship service and posting it on our website hgcc.org as well as Facebook. This will be available for you to watch for Sunday morning. We will also be cancelling next Wednesday as well. A decision about next Sunday will be made later next week.
As a result of those decisions, we wanted to remind you of our church’s financial obligations to pay our staff, support our Missionaries and pay our regular operating expenses such as taxes, insurance, utilities and other ministry expenses.
While we evaluate other options for giving, please continue to tithe by mailing your offering envelope with check (NO CASH) in a mailing envelope to the church at 6390 Harmony Grove Rd. Dover, PA 17315.
Some people already utilize their bank’s “Bill Pay” to send their offering to the church today. Most banks offer “Bill Pay” and there usually is “No Charge” for the service and you even save the postage. If your bank supports online “Bill Pay”, please consider sending your offering to HGCC by “Bill Pay”
3/17/20- In light of recent events, we will be cancelling all Wednesday night ministries for the next two weeks. This includes little explorers, AWANA, youth group, and prayer meeting. Later this week we will announce our plans for Sunday worship service.
3/14/20- Many of you are very aware of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) concern. As a result, you may be wondering or curious about how this affects Sundays here at Harmony Grove Community Church.
We will continue to have Sunday School and Sunday morning worship service as scheduled. With recent health concerns, we will be adding additional weekly deep cleaning services in the sanctuary and lobby areas. We will also have hand sanitizer stations available throughout the lobby. In addition, we will be discontinuing our greeting time during the church service.
If you are feeling ill or have health concerns, we encourage you stay home and watch the service, which will be available on Monday on our church website.
